Shop local in Lauder

Lauder lies on the edge of the Lammermuir Hills, 27 miles to the south east of Edinburgh.

On the outskirts of Lauder lies Thirlstane Castle, one of the seven great houses of Scotland. A magnificent 16th century castle situated in a quiet meadow landscape, Thirlstane is one of the oldest and finest castles in Scotland, and still remains a family home to the Maitlands family today. During the summer months the castle is open to the day visitors and for group tours.

According to the locals the market town boasts something for everyone with its own grocer, deli, butcher, baker and fruit shop, along with great locally produced food in the local pubs.

Lauder Common Riding begins on the first Saturday in August each year.
