Homecoming Scotland 2014

Scotland welcomes the world for Homecoming Scotland 2014! The year-long programme of events will celebrate the very best of Scotland’s food and drink, our breath-taking scenery, and our rich creativity, culture and ancestral heritage, aswell as playing host to the 2014 Commonwealth Games! We invite you to come and experience a place where everyone feels at home!

Return to the Ridings 2014 

The Return to the Ridings celebrates the riding of the boundaries that has taken place for hundreds of years, with 11 towns doing this on horseback. The festivals highlight the traditions and history of the Border towns through song, parades and concerts.

Visitors are always welcome to the events and will find themselves joining in the celebrations, whether on foot or horseback.

  • Hawick: 10 May - 7 June (Celebrating the 500th anniversary of the Battle of Hornshole)
  • Galashiels: 16 May – 28 June
  • West Linton: 6 – 15 June
  • Jedburgh: 28 June – 11 July
  • Selkirk: 12 – 14 June
  • Melrose: 15 – 21 June
  • Peebles: 15 June – 21 June
  • Duns: 6 – 12 July
  • Kelso: 13 – 19 July
  • Lauder: 27 July – 2 August
  • Coldstream: 3 – 9 August
